DATA PROTECTION POLICY
STATEMENT OF GENERAL POLICY:
The Friends of Bilbrook will keep certain information about its members and committee members and is committed to protecting the privacy of all in accordance with the principles set out in the General Data Protection Regulation Legislation 2018.
PAPER BASED INFORMATION
We do not keep any paper-based contact details on any committee members or service users. Registers taken at events such as litter picks, waterside care events are for insurance purposes that day and are shredded immediately after the event.
COMPUTERISED INFORMATION
Service users can sign up to our emailing list via the Friends of Bilbrook website using Mailchimp. Users can unsubscribe at any time without the need to contact the Friends of Bilbrook. Email contact details for committee members will be deleted immediately after they leave the committee; if they wish to keep in touch with the Friends of Bilbrook activities they can subscribe through the website.
IMAGES
All participants in events will be asked to complete a consent form regarding any images taken. This form will enable them to give consent for images to be used on the Friends of Bilbrook website, Facebook page, twitter pages and also local press. Participants are able to demand that any images are taken down at any time.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is the main way that Friends of Bilbrook can promote their work. Only those images where specific consent has been given for social media will be used.
DISPOSAL OF INFORMATION
Printed information will be shredded. Any disks containing information will be physically destroyed and all computer information will be deleted permanently.
